RECYFIX®HICAP® TYPE G - THE FIRST DUCTILE IRON SLOTTED CHANNEL

HAURATON introduced an innovative new product at GaLaBau in Nuremberg and the Road and Traffic exhibition in Düsseldorf: RECYFIX HICAP model G – the first slotted channel made from cast iron for direct installation in asphalt or paving.

The RECYFIX HICAP model G is a further development of the RECYFIX HICAP drainage system that has already established itself as a best-seller on national and international markets. The channel system is used to drain the surface of extensive, heavily frequented areas where considerable quantities of water have to be drained, and also acts as a surface water channel.

The revolutionary thing about this new channel is the use of high-quality ductile graphite iron as the material for the slotted cover. Conventional slotted channels made from steel or stainless steel are easily deformed on heavily used road surfaces. Ductile graphite steel is characterised by its excellent stability, durability and corrosion resistance.

These “almost invisible” channels are ideal for designing attractive locations and architecturally demanding areas, which often covered with large paving stones or pieces of natural stone. The dynamic loading caused by motor vehicles exerts a considerable amount of force on the upper edges of the channels. The cast iron cover with integrated inlet adapter provides effective resistance to the force that occurs and therefore prevents damage.

Show the rain where to go: this slogan also applies to the RECYFIX HICAP. It takes in surface water, transports it over long distances and leads it to a connecting point in the main water channel. Increasing channel cross sections (the system is available in six combinable nominal sizes) provide considerable drainage capacity and form a type of underground canal. A considerable amount of backup reserve is available as holding capacity, whereby the amount of water that is led into the main water channel is controlled and the stored water is gradually fed into the sewer system. This reduces the strain on sewer systems, particular during periods of heavy rain.

Different cover designs are available for the RECYFIX HICAP model G. As well as the slotted cast iron version, variants with lateral bars and large inlet openings are available. After installation, the drainage system can be used for maximum loads of up to class F 900.
