Another race track features HAURATON channels as the drainage solution

The construction of the new Moscow Formula One test circuit has been completed. Future races will not just be placing maximum demands on the drivers. The circuit drainage systems have also been designed with maximum performance and safety in mind. HAURATON has supplied the drainage systems and provided help and guidance during the installation.

This summer in Wolokolamsk, situated to the North West of Moscow, the roar of engines and the screeching of tyres could be heard, and there was a familiar smell of racing fuel in the air. The race circuit was constructed using German expertise and the corresponding attention to detail. Responsible project manager, Arite Hirsch, from renowned planning office Tilke based in Aachen, made the final decision to use high-performance channels FASERFIX SUPER from HAURATON for drainage of racetrack.

Approx. 10,000 m of these channels in nominal widths of 100, 150 and 200 mm were installed at the 4.07 km long race track, with its 15 curves and a diverse range of layout options, meets all the demands of international motorsport competitions. As requested, the channels in the paddock area and along the pit lane can be used as temporary cable ducts. Here, the ductile iron gratings are secured using the boltless locking system SIDE-LOCK, so that cables can be installed and subsequently removed both quickly and easily.

The race track has been approved by the FIA and passed the inspection with flying colours. The circuit has been classified as "Grade 2+1T" which corresponds with a Formula One test track.
