The stadium has been planned to host the 2018 Asian Games, requiring an IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations)-approved solution to host the International Athletics Championships. Therefore, it was needed to change specifications regarding the planned drainage system. In the decision-making phase there was some persuasion necessary to install drainage systems of HAURATON instead of locally produced channels from concrete. Drainage experts of HAURATON showed the contractor the easier and faster installation of the modular professional system in comparison to the in-site solution.
