Heavy-duty channel – for the toughest applications

Heavy goods traffic places the highest demands on rainwater management in transport and industrial areas. HAURATON heavy-duty channels are specifically designed to withstand extreme loads from lorries, buses, container vehicles and aircraft. They combine maximum stability with a well-thought-out, practical design – for comprehensive rainwater management in heavy-duty areas.

Heavy-duty channel – when load becomes a challenge

In high-traffic areas, drainage systems are subjected to high wheel loads, dynamic forces and constant stress. At the same time, rainwater and surface runoff must be reliably drained away to ensure road safety and protect the structural integrity of the infrastructure.

HAURATON develops heavy-duty channels as part of a comprehensive rainwater management system. The systems are designed for long-term use, reduce maintenance requirements and support planners and construction managers in the safe implementation of demanding infrastructure projects.

Key features of heavy-duty channels

When choosing the right heavy-duty channel, several factors play a key role:

Materials

Depending on the application, heavy-duty channels are available in concrete, polymer concrete, fibre-reinforced concrete, composite or steel. The choice of material depends on the load, environmental factors and project-specific requirements.

Load classes

HAURATON heavy-duty channels are designed for the highest load classes – up to F900 – and are therefore suitable for areas with extremely heavy traffic.

Product features

A wide range of gratings, various nominal widths and materials (FASERFIX and RECYFIX) allow for flexible planning and precise adaptation to the specific project.

Installation and cost-effectiveness

The systems are durable, low-maintenance and designed for efficient installation – a clear advantage throughout the entire lifecycle of the drainage solution.

The right HAURATON heavy-duty channel for every application area

Heavy-duty areas come in many forms. HAURATON offers tailor-made drainage solutions for a wide range of application areas:

Car parks & underground car parks

Car parks, multi-storey car parks and underground car parks are constantly exposed to heavy traffic. Every day, large numbers of vehicles use these areas – both for private and commercial purposes. HAURATON heavy-duty channels ensure safe and reliable drainage here, even in the face of heavy traffic and intensive use.

Logistics & industry

Logistics centres and industrial estates are among the areas subject to the heaviest traffic loads. Every day, lorries, forklift trucks and heavy goods vehicles travel across large sites with high wheel loads. The HAURATON heavy-duty channel ensures safe, durable drainage in these areas – even on sites covering tens of thousands of square metres and subject to constant heavy goods traffic.

Airport drainage

Airports place the highest demands on the drainage of heavy-duty surfaces. Airside and landside areas are subject to extreme wheel loads, dynamic stresses and strict safety requirements. HAURATON heavy-duty channels are designed to meet these requirements and ensure stable, safe and durable drainage on runways, aprons and traffic areas within airport operations.

Roads and tunnels

Transport infrastructure is not just about drainage, but about comprehensive rainwater management. HAURATON systems collect and safely drain surface water from roads, motorways and tunnels in an environmentally friendly manner.

Which HAURATON heavy-duty channel is right for your project?

The heavy-duty channel is subjected to extremely high loads and high usage frequencies. Enormous thrust, shear and suction forces, point loads and dynamic horizontal forces demand the highest levels of stability and safety from the installed heavy-duty channels. HAURATON heavy-duty channels for extreme loads offer absolute safety and stability even under enormous sustained loads in the highest load class F 900.

Specialised solutions for heavy-duty surfaces

Comprehensive rainwater management begins with the controlled collection of rainwater. For heavy-duty surfaces, HAURATON offers specialised system solutions that reliably combine drainage with additional functions such as rainwater treatment.

Rainwater treatment with DRAINFIX CLEAN

Visualisierung der DRAINFIX CLEAN FSU Rinne

In high-traffic areas such as logistics centres, ports or industrial sites, rainwater often becomes contaminated with pollutants. DRAINFIX CLEAN combines drainage and rainwater treatment in a single system. Pollutants such as oils, heavy metals or microplastics are retained directly on site.

  • Extremely high pollutant retention: Over 95% retention of ultrafine particles (AFS63) in accordance with DWA-M 179 – reliable protection of soil and groundwater, even under heavy traffic conditions.
  • More usable space despite dense development: its compact footprint allows it to be used in densely built-up and busy areas – including those with heavy goods traffic – and provides additional usable construction space compared to infiltration swales.
