It is time once again for the HAURATON Project of the Year competition. We have received many outstanding submissions – below you can discover nine exceptional projects from around the world. Which one will become the HAURATON Project of the Year 2025?

Leirvig district – Stavanger East, Norway

Subsidiary / Partner: NOR-DRAIN AS

In the heart of Stavanger East, the Leirvig district is emerging as a vibrant urban quarter that combines education, exercise and community. The new buildings include a school, a sports hall and a nursery. The district centre places particular emphasis on sustainability and environmentally friendly construction – ideally complemented by HAURATON’s resource-saving drainage systems.

A particular highlight is the custom technical adaptation: a 5–7 cm high internal wall was added inside the channels before the outlets, allowing the entire channel length to function as a sand trap. This detail was specifically requested by the architect.

Area 700 cargo area – Milan, Italy

As part of the redesign of the ‘Area 700’ cargo area at Milan Malpensa Airport, a drainage solution was sought that could permanently withstand the extreme loads caused by cargo traffic and aircraft operations. With the powerful RECYFIX HICAP system from HAURATON, a robust, low-maintenance and future-proof solution was realised.

Redesign of Place Béraudier – Lyon, France

With the redesign of Place Béraudier in the heart of Lyon, a highly frequented urban space has been reimagined. Located directly at Lyon Part-Dieu railway station, one of France’s busiest transport hubs, the project created a modern, harmonious and sustainable public square – technically supported by HAURATON’s high-performance and aesthetically integrated drainage solutions.

Hungaroring – Mogyoród, Hungary

Annopol Tram Depot – Warsaw, Poland

The Annopol Tram Depot in Warsaw is one of Poland’s most modern local transport investments. The new construction project required customised drainage systems that meet the special requirements of tram tracks in terms of precision, load-bearing capacity and technical integration. Natural History Museum – Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

In the renowned Saadiyat Cultural District, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi is an architectural masterpiece that combines science, culture and sustainability. For this iconic construction project, the client relied on HAURATON’s proven expertise to implement a precise, aesthetically integrated and sustainable drainage solution.

A modern Mercedes-Benz showroom with service centre has been built in Dunajská Streda, perfectly combining elegance, functionality and brand aesthetics. To support the overall architectural concept, the client opted for high-quality drainage systems from HAURATON, which are not only technically impressive but also add design accents.

At the same time, the lightness and ease of installation of the RECYFIX systems made installation considerably easier. Tissot Arena – Biel, Switzerland

The Tissot Arena in Biel is one of Switzerland’s most modern sports facilities. The multifunctional stadium offers optimal conditions for sports, events and leisure activities – and also focuses on the highest quality in terms of infrastructure. HAURATON systems were chosen for reliable drainage of the outdoor areas, as they perfectly combine stability, durability and design.

Access road to mobile concrete mixing plant – Prague, Czech Republic

A drainage solution was sought for the construction of a new access road to the mobile concrete mixing plant on the grounds of Prague Airport that could withstand the extreme loads caused by heavy goods traffic. The investor opted for the robust TRAFFIC GUGIBLOC+ system from HAURATON – a solution that guarantees maximum stability and durability.

It is also the first installation of the TRAFFIC GUGIBLOC+ system in the Czech Republic, making the project an important milestone in regional product development.
