Innovative Drainage Planning for Multi-Functional Complexes

The most heavily trafficked points for vehicle movement in multi-functional mega-complexes are the access roads to car parks, entrances and exits, and intersections. In this particular case, the FASERFIX KS drainage channel with its high water absorption capacity was used. The durable ductile iron GUGI grating provides a safe base for vehicular traffic in all seasons.

The nature of the complex implies intensive and numerous movements in the car parks. Due to the location and proximity to a major road and the attractions offered to visitors, several different drainage systems were used for the car parks, each optimally positioned.

Precision Planning and Execution in Drainage Solutions

To address the drainage needs of the GoldenEye Hotel & Casino complex, HAURATON engineers proposed a system of various products tailored to the different functionalities and intensities of the adjacent areas. The drainage channels were hydraulically sized and positioned to meet the requirements of load and incoming rain volumes.

In the parking areas, which experience heavy and frequent movements, a combination of different drainage systems were used to distribute water volumes according to the respective loads and types of passage – pedestrian or vehicular. At the entry and exit points, FASERFIX KS drainage channels with high water absorption capacity were installed to ensure efficient drainage and durability under heavy traffic. FASERFIX POINT KS systems were strategically placed in key areas to handle rainwater volumes from the adjacent terrain.

The DRAINFIX TWIN infiltration system was meticulously developed for this specific project with specially designed details. Due to the complexity of the site – including an existing slope and a significant installation depth – the individual elements were precisely designed during the design phase and the installation process was carried out with advice and supervision from HAURATON. The DRAINFIX TWIN system was also combined with AQUAFIX coalescence separators to improve rain water treatment and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
