With 2,208 metres of RECYFIX HICAP F channels in sizes 3000, 5000, 8000 and 10000, the system has an exceptionally high retention volume. This means that every metre of channel run not only safely drains rainwater, but also stores it in a targeted manner and releases it into the harbour canal system at a later stage. This was a decisive factor in the choice of system and is essential to avoid overloading the network during heavy rainfall.
The channels used combine high hydraulic capacity with robust construction, offering a low-maintenance solution for the long term. They actively contribute to sustainable rainwater management in the port area and make additional retention facilities unnecessary.
The channels were laid in three runs across the site. They were positioned precisely to drain the entire area evenly while providing a large water reservoir.
The construction company carrying out the work was initially sceptical about the new system. However, intensive consultation and instruction from HAURATON ensured that installation was smooth and efficient. The final feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
The RECYFIX HICAP F system combines drainage and retention in a single product.
