SERVICE CHANNEL system scores in Al-Maktoum Stadium

Complex projects require integrated expert solutions. This was also true when planning the Al-Maktoum Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. HAURATON were asked to draw up a complete concept for the service channel system in the arena and was able to provide customised ideas and product groups. The multi-purpose stadium in Dubai holds around 15,000 people and is mainly used for football matches. It was renovated and updated for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup in 2018, providing facilities for international TV broadcasts and therefore an intelligent solution was required.

RECYFIX STANDARD and FASERFIX KS set the pace

The RECYFIX STANDARD channel and the SERVICE CHANNEL FASERFIX KS proved to be the perfect solution for the challenge of temporarily guiding the media cables and simultaneously fulfilling the drainage task. Both channel variants have GUGI mesh gratings made of high-quality spheroid ductile iron. Structural as well as aesthetic criteria played a role in ensuring that HAURATON got the bid: Both solutions proposed by HAURATON fulfilled particular visual requirements. Above all, the architects involved were thoroughly impressed that the two systems had gratings in the same GUGI mesh grating design – which was undoubtedly an advantage when ensuring that the stadium had a consistent appearance. The two systems appear identical when looking at them from above.

441 metres of RECYFIX STANDARD were successfully installed along the boundary of the grandstands. 373 metres of SERVICE CHANNEL FASERFIX KS  with E-class GUGI mesh grating were installed around the edge of the playing field, along with a galvanised steel cable management system. These are indispensable when fitting at short notice as well as during installation of the media transmission cable. The most important matter for the client in achieving its goals was that HAURATON also had the advisory expertise to quickly prepare a suitable integrated concept for the stadium from their existing products and systems.

SERVICE CHANNEL FASERFIX KS provides safe, secure and pracitical manegement of electrical cables, pipes and other service utilities. Heavy-duty concrete cable trough channel systems are manufactured from fibre-reinforced concrete with maximum lateral stability due to their extra thick channel base and side walls. FASERFIX KS incorporates a 20 mm deep galvanised edge frame.
